Cadek Calendar

September 8, 2009

calendar2bwfinalcalendar4final

Here are my final compositions of the Cadek Calendar, Project #1 in Typography II. I feel that I have progressed quite far from where I started, where I had a very unoriginal and unprovoking basic calendar. I had a lot of great feedback about the alignment and consideration of space, as well as the color choice. I paid special attention to visual hierarchy and alignment, using placement, size, and color, to help retain its high functionality and simplicity.

Overall, I am very happy with the outcome.

Poster_for_smt_by_B_positive

This poster is amazingly pretty. The combination of black, white, and magenta turns out really nice.

poster_design_by_etrixI also have a thing for chaoticly clean-looking posters. Oxymoron? Yes.
This poster only uses two or three colors and the bold colors and text just work amazingly well.

This is just awesome.

McCormick Place Convention Center West Expansion Project Schedule

McCormick Place Convention Center West Expansion Project Schedule

This schedule shows slight redundancy as both sides of the schedule have repeated rows and columns with generally the same purpose. The left side seems to show the months and years that will be involved in the expansion project. while the right side shows a more simple bar with the dates involved across the top of the schedule. Even at full size, the image shows that most of the text is almost unreadable, which I have some irritation with, but I find myself interested in the color choices. While I haven’t figured out the difference between red and blue bars, it does stand out nicely against the white background and the green bars. I find the yellow at the top almost unnecessary, though. I wonder at the purpose of it…but I guess that’s what this project will be all about.

More to add in a minute.

Recommended Immunization Schedule for Persons Aged 7-18 Years

While it is true that the previous schedule contained more information that needed to be on the chart, this chart is aesthetically pleasing and simple. There is a clear color code on the right side, as well as additional information tightly inserted into the bottom of the grid. The only thing that would confuse me the first time I saw this chart would be the small footnote-like numbers next to the vaccine names on the left. These are not footnote numbers, and I’m not sure what they are other than the chart listing them in order from one to ten.

And…

Oh my God.

Oh my God.
